Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother – Joyce Helen Vale, passed onto her eternal rest, in the early evening of April 24th, 2017, after a loving life of 93 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur, loving Mother to Patricia (Kevin), James (Donna) and Daniel (Sharon); adoring Gramma to Jacqueline, Gordon, Caitlin, Colin, Jenna and Connor; cherished Great-Gramma to Rylie, and babies Owen, Everly and Henry. Lovingly remembered by her extended family and dear friends. Though saddened with her passing, we shall be forever grateful for having had her joy, laughter and song in all of our lives. Art, Music and Literature were just a few of her favorite things. She held a special place in her heart for animals, supporting their protection through the good works of numerous wildlife charities; children also received the blessings of her generosity, through her assistance to World Vision. Her benevolent nature was further evident in her 50 years of service to the I.O.D.E. and her many years of volunteer work at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery of Oshawa. At Joyce’s request, cremation will take place, with interment beside her husband, at Mount Lawn Cemetery, in a private family ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend a ‘Celebration of Life’ for Joyce, at the home of Dan & Sharon Vale, on Sunday, May 7th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contact information is available from Armstrong Funeral Home by calling (905) 433-4711.
